EVICS Family Resource Center - EVICS was established in 2006 as a child care scholarship program and evolved to serve the community as EVICS Family Resource Center. As a Family Resource Center, we connect families and parents to resources throughout our community and across Larimer County. Estes Park is identified as a childcare desert and accessing affordable and safe childcare continues to be a huge hurdle for families. Through family development programs, mental health consultations, connection to resources, and of course, our child care scholarship program, EVICS Family Resource Center is essential to family success in Estes Park.
Laurie Dale Marshall
Laurie Dale Marshall made her way to the mountains by way of Lawrence, KS and Cheley Camps. She has lived in Estes Park since 2013 after raising her three children, Lincoln, Emma, and Georgia, to be proud Jayhawks!. A graduate of the University of Kansas’ School of Social Welfare, Laurie has always held high the role of advocate and has a passion for creative problem solving.
These passions led to both direct service and community based advocacy work. Back in KS, Laurie ensured all Kansans had access to medical care through community organizing and legislative advocacy.
She worked in service to children and adults with developmental disabilities and supported early
educators as a Behavior Coach. She was the Director of one of the oldest cooperative preschool programs in the Nation, which her own children also attended years before.
Prior to being the Executive Director for EVICS Family Resource Center, Laurie worked to support all Estes Valley nonprofits as the Director of the EP Nonprofit Resource Center. Laurie has served as a member and Chairperson for the Family Advisory Board and volunteers with multiple local nonprofits; and you may see her catering events with her Chef husband, John .
She sits on several regional committees to ensure the voice of our community and the needs of its citizens are not overlooked. Laurie has utilized her skills to build programs and services that ensure all people have the ability to thrive. During the pandemic, that looked like organizing a meals program that served thousands in our community. Now, it looks like doing what needs to be done for families in the Estes Valley. When not leading the Family Resource Center, she’s enjoying nature, thrifting for treasures, and mostly reveling in being a grandmother!
